71.84 Drivers

Well now this is interesting:

Link

A CoolBits applet to allow users to easily add their own SLI application profiles for games not currently supported

Looks like "all those problems " are gone.

Also the Xtreme G Drivers are way better than reference and fix the yellow water, and shiny grass bugs in HL2. These look like a good release download them from the drivers thread.

Edit: The only downside to these drivers is they are still OGL 1.5 instead of 2.0... not much of a problem though.

They do 😉

And by the way the XG 71.84 version is just incredible, best IQ I have ever seen and great performers.

They do fix the glassy grass? In favor of yellow water? Or are BOTH things fixed???

The XG 71.84's are the best driver set I've used to date. In fact, every XG drivers I've used wield extreme performance w/out sacrificing (and most of the time IMPROVING) IQ... I love them.

bah i didnt see this thread and posted another thread on the 71.84 lol. o well too late now. glad you guys like the drivers btw 🙂

I've been getting a pretty large amount of garbled graphics/lock-ups with this driver version when playing CS: S. Anyone else experiencing any problems?

I'm not having any problems with these. I've tried most of the betas including the 71.90 and these are the best drivers for SLI, and prob all GF6 users.

Always check the "resolved issues" portion of the release notes if you are waiting on a particular fix BTW.
Yes, I still run in a window in my widescreen games.. but as stated before, it covers every single pixel of the screen with the game anyway in windowed 1680x1050 mode.. so its not that much of a windowed mode.. or a problem.
I hope they have a widescreen dvi fix coming in the offical release though, but these betas are a MOST welcome improvement!

Bravo Nvidia!

Before these, I'd found overall that the last official release worked best for me. But these are a pleasant surprise, I like the profile builder.. should shut up the retard noobs.

Started using these FW's last night. Yellow water and shiney grass are gone on Aztec. So far I like these drivers best for CSS. Image quality looks better than previous drivers I've used too.

Are you using the VXG's or the regs?

What exactly is the difference between the regular drivers and the XTG ones? Is there any disadvantage with going with the XTG ones besides no support from nvidia?

No. The XG drivers are modified heavily to produce much higher IQ and performance. Im not really sure how he does it but you would have to ask Tweaks R Us (Daishi) how as he is the creater along with the other guy jrdr1st (I think that is how you spell it). Very nice drivers, over 15,000 download in a day alone, and that is just on Guru3d and Tweaks R Us official sight alone.

To enable the profile creating feature, make sure you use Coolbits 2.0.
Coolbits 2.0
You get alot more options than the usual coolbits tweak you should know by heart in the registry by now.

Heres the SWAT 4 Demo profile I created in about 2 seconds.
PWNED!

Can someone link me to a comparison of the yellow water issues? When you're down low in Aztec running, sometimes the water looks a little yellow, depending on the distance and angles. If you look from it above the ledge, it looks clear and reflects. These are my observations using the standard 71.84s.

Is there suppose to be no yellow at all? I'm confuzzled!

You are thinking to much about this; the water issue is fixed.

I guess Nvidia was just waiting for ATI to take care of that! They ARE the canadians after all.. they dont have much experience eating up the yellow snow out there in Cali.
🙂
