I've been going back and forth between 66.97 and 71.24 doing some benching and noticed i was getting comparably bad performance in EQ2 with 71.24's. the first thing i thought of was that perhaps my core wasn't jumping to my OCed 3d speed from stock when EQ2 runs...sure enough, it doesn't budge from 325. i'm rolling back to 66.97 at the moment, just to confirm, i'll post back in a sec.

Edit-yup, 66.97 works just fine...so why won't 71.24 with EQ2 bump the core up?

I think EQ2 is one big adware virus bug. "Runs best on Nvidia" lol.

I am going to tell you a story.

I played eq2 alpha.Bought the game and played eq1 for one month.

I got sick of: 1)The xp debt share system 2) having spend over $700 on a new system ( athlon 64 3200 + geforce 6800gt ) and seeing WORST performance than my athlon xp 2500 + radeon 9800 pro. 3) and lots of thing that bug me with eq2.

So i made the best decision, i switch to WoW :) .

I am a HUGE eq1 fan, and sorry to say this, beside the graphics, eq2 totally blow compare to eq1.

Dont bother trying things with your 6800 card. They put nvidia name on this game...and totally screw it.

Wow tho run flawless...4xaa , 16x af... 1280. ( all maxed except terrain distance set to medium.)
