All,
I'm not new to system building but power supplies are my weak point.
I'd like to upgrade the GPU on my couple year old rig to hold me over until the next i7 and DDR4 are out - but I'm worried my PS is on the edge for the power hungry Radeon 290. I'm currently running a 5850 GPU.
Do you think this PS can handle an R290 (will likely get this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150701)?
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700 W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341018
I suspect it will but it might be on the edge. I don't think its the highest end 700W.
The rest of my setup (no overclocking):
Phenom II X4 965 Black (140W TDP)
16GB RAM @ 1333
2 SSDs
DVD
This all lives in a full size ATX case with lots of airflow (2 front 140mm and 1 large side).
Thanks in advance!
