7004VWBR & WPA

I have the above and I would like to utilize WPA wireless. I am currently using 128-bit WEP, which is fine, but I would like to beef up security.

When I disable WEP and enable WPA, my dell laptop, which uses the embedded NIC with the Intel software, connects with ease and accesses the Internet. However, my tower, which uses a SMC 11 mbps PCI card using Windows XP to manage the wireless connection, connects, but does not access the Internet. Windows shows connectivity and full packets being sent and received, but I can not access the Internet.

Any ideas???

Thank you.

if you switch back to wep, can the SMC machine access the internet no problem? drivers been updated on that card?

can you access or ping the local lan on the SMC when running wpa?

When I switch back to WEP, I have no problems. I have not tried to ping the router, which I should of. According to Windows, I was connected, full packets were sent back and forth. When I try it again later, I will try to ping the router. If I can, what do you think it is? It's very strange...
