700 free hours internet and 9.94 monthly thereafter

FYI, WalMart ISP is actually AOL/Compuserve. All posting from AOL/Compuserve. is "banned from Anandtech".

The text, "Other names are trademark or service marks of their respective holders. © 2001 America Online, Inc., and Wal-Mart.com, Inc. All rights reserved." but this is the only mention of AOL. I think AOL may provide user program shells for companies like this.

This does not sound like AOL to me. If it bothers you enough, call their toll-free number, (888) 855-0942 (found on their homepage).

Yes, it's true. When dialed into Walmart Connect and/or AOL/Compuserve, no Anandtech posting is allowed. The Anandtech moderator is the controller of the ban, not AOL/Compuserve. For the same $9.95/month price, NetZero Platinum ISP connection operates normally for Anandtech.

How hot it is depends on how much time you spend on sites that won't allow you to post from Walmart/AOL/Compuserve. Before I got 6 months free AOL when bought my Dell 4400 when it came to $475 after rebate, (you remember that deal!!) I had cable broadband. Due to corporate issues with Comcast they recommended that all their broadband customers sign up for the 10 free hours with NetZero. I did and when I want to post something like I am doing right now, I use NetZero. The rest of the time I use the 6 months of free AOL. A bit of a PITA, but the price is right.

Dang, does anyone know if this service works in Canada? Since it's hosted from Toronto? I'm in the ON district...
