That's awesome. And from now on, if some chubby girl tries to give you excuses like "I'm big boned," or "it's my metabolism," you'll know better.

Its actually an adaptive low pass filter circuit lol..... with built in Sin Wave generator!

Didn't have time to be neat about it.

Yeah I noticed most people at work are Fat and the free ice cream cakes, donuts and muffins aern't helping the trend. People look at me kind of funny when I reject all the food they try to give out, but if they only knew how much effort it took to get where I am I don't think they would think twice about it.

I'm trying now to put on 5-10 lbs of muscle and just started lifting and bulking more seriously. I need room for a power rack damnit!

Losing the hair and mustache helped a lot too.
:awe:

CONGRATS BUDDY! Now make sure to keep it off. I yo-yo'd a lot in the Navy when they were trying to slim me down.

haha interesting. we worked late every day at my first job, and they would like basically throw out overly buttered and cheesed pasta with free soda etc .

after i realized i was going to gain like 50 pounds at the rate i was going, i just stopped eating it. and people were like, uh why... since they will ask "but its free" or "its all you can eat"

good luck gaining muscle, its taken me a while to put on the right kind of weight, but its a fun challenge too.

humans are biologically programmed to eat as much food as it is available to us and we happen to live in one of the most food-abundant (especially processed food) countries in the world. That's what makes it so tough. One literally has to really fight tooth and nail against one's natural impulse not to eat the readily available food all around us. In my case, the food craving is sometimes overwhelming :(

Abundance is a two-edged sword. 100 years ago, people worked to eat. Now you can go to the grocery store and get bananas from Argentina, strawberries from California, grapes from Chile...everything is available all the time, everything is in season all the time, and yet as of 2010 over 33% of American adults are obese. We went from a culture of being thankful to have food to being overwhelmed by the choices available and having an endless supply of processed food available.

The best thing that has ever happened to me physically was getting food allergies. That forced me to have to learn about food and really opened my eyes to just what we put in the stuff we eat...100% fruit juice is simply ultra-refined grape juice (with some added flavorings), which is worse than sugar. Corn is in everything. Most honey contains high-fructose corn syrup because bees are force-fed it and it gets passed into the final product. Gluten and dairy are in everything. The food industry is really good at hiding foods and changing names and putting lots of crud into our food. It's a really difficult problem to overcome...I probably never would have gone off the traditional American diet of crap if not for my food allergies.

good for you, man. My problem was carb. It was killing me slowly, one lb at a time. No more white bread or anything with lots of carb in it.

congrats, but you should think about gaining some more weight and muscle now. you went from one extreme to the other.

I wouldn't say extremes, but I agree here. If you could put on 10 or 15 more pounds, you'd be prime. Increase your calorie intake, make sure to maintain a protein intake, and keep up your workout at the gym. Congrats on all your progress, hard work pays off!

Talking from experience, it is easy to lose weight but it is hard to maintain it. If I were to give you just one piece of advice it would be: do not be so drastic. If your friends at work offer you a piece of cake and you actually want it, take it.This will prevent you from going on an eating spree later. I was fat until I was 14 and I managed to get thin, but a year later I gained a lot of it back due to a combination of frustration/desire for my favorite foods. I then learned not to be so radical and to treat myself with food I like once in a while. A decade later and I am still in shape. Drastic diets do not work long-term, you gotta adapt the diet to your personality.

holy moly!!!

I'd kill to lose 70 lbs, but I'll be happy with 30lbs to start with.

I am not that extreme as you, but I am doing about 1800 calories right now. Only problem is that once in a while I get invited to dinner and stuff and its hard to excuse yourself when the lady of the house has made so much good food.. so I end up overdoing myself in the gym.. but I am yet to get to the 500cal/day, I am usually 200-250 in the gym.

BTW> I can now use you as an inspiration..

I'm guessing 200ish, but I couldn't tell you to be honest.

Also addressing anyusername's comment:

I don't really have any cravings for certain foods unless I let myself starve. I noticed many overweight people and just people in general have these "cravings," but its never been something I've really had to deal with.

I was more of a boredom eater. If I had something to get lost in like troubleshooting a computer issue I could not eat for a day and probably hardly notice. Satisfaction from food for me is more about quantity than type, but this is easily overcome by eating low calorie high volume things, which tend to be healthy anyways (ala fruit and veggies). I actually quit eating white rice more or less entirely in one day without much effort and I had eaten it almost 2-3 times per day everyday in my life beforehand.

Another killer was just being an inactive person. I believe I've overcome that now that I actually feel uncomfortable and agitated when I do nothing physical for a day. I have to lift or go on a decent walk or something.

Recently I completed a mini-gym in my garage with power rack, olympic weights and dumb bells and some benches. If the results of lifting are worthwhile I'll post an update in another 6 months.
