"The proposal failed to pass in the Democratically-controlled State House last month by a 75 to 82 vote. "

Honestly, why the fuck do these Democrats WANT to give illegals taxpayer dollars? Do they get some sort of warm fuzzy feeling? I just dont get it.

It doesn't really make a difference for us. There are like 42 illegal immigrants here in MA. Unlike the 42% of some other states.

In principle it makes a great deal of difference. It's tacit approval by a government who is struggling to deal with the needs of it's citizens, saying in effect "You who are here legally must pay, however those who are not get a free ride"

It's reflective of the mentality of the people in charge, and that's a bit spooky. What else does this thinking influence?

Similar percentage in California when prop 187 was passed but thanks to the "progressive" courts it was thrown out and the "progressive" governor (who was later thrown out) decided that the issue wants worth following.

If by 42 illegals, you mean 87,000 illegals, then sure.

http://www.statemaster.com/graph/peo_est_num_of_ill_imm-people-estimated-number-illegal-immigrants

MA is in 15th place for the most illegals. Not bad for such small state.

Well, look at % of population.

# 15 Massachusetts: 87,000
# 16 Michigan: 70,000
# 17 Utah: 65,000
# 18 Minnesota: 60,000
# 19 Maryland: 56,000
# 20 Pennsylvania: 49,000
# 21 Kansas: 47,000
= 22 Tennessee: 46,000
= 22 Oklahoma: 46,000
# 24 Indiana: 45,000
# 25 Wisconsin: 41,000
# 26 Ohio: 40,000
= 27 Connecticut: 39,000
= 27 New Mexico: 39,000
# 29 South Carolina: 36,000
# 30 Arkansas: 27,000
= 31 Alabama: 24,000
= 31 Iowa: 24,000
= 31 Nebraska: 24,000
# 34 Missouri: 22,000
# 35 Idaho: 19,000
# 36 Rhode Island: 16,000
# 37 Kentucky: 15,000
# 38 Delaware: 10,000
# 39 Mississippi: 8,000
# 40 District of Columbia: 7,000
= 41 Louisiana: 5,000
= 41 Alaska: 5,000
# 43 Hawaii: 2,000

87000/6,593,587 = 1.3% of our population. We really do not care...

Keep an eye out for AZ plates coming to a neighborhood near you ;)

Great attitude towards criminals. I'm sure that way of thinking wont cause that number to rise at all, especially with the mass exodus in AZ.

As long as the local governments do not help them get housing.

Did you read the OP?

"A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows that just 17% oppose the proposal to prevent illegal immigrants from gaining access to public housing, unemployment benefits, welfare or workers compensation."

Right, I don't know how public housing works but I assume it is bit more complicated than "Are you a legal resident, oh you are, here's a cheap place to stay!".

IMO, I don't think Laws should be made that could potentially intrude on Citizen's rights (like Arizona's), but I would be happy to support the ban on benefits based strictly on illegal status here in MA.

The problem though is that America has failed to stem the fundamental issue - border security.

We're content with screening people at Airports and waging War in the middle east.

Meanwhile, Mexicans arrive and exponentially increase their numbers, breaking the back of the camel that is already under siege from the outside, and being gutted on the inside by Wall Street thugs like Goldman Ballsacks.

So what's it really that you guys want? More Government intervention or Less?

With less, America gets over-run by Mexicans and Goldman Ballsacks.

Speak for yourself.

I speak for MA residents, almost all of which are white. If everybody you came across looked like an illegal alien, sure, that might start being a cause for concern. Almost everyone here I see are white though.

You need to get into the inner cities more.

Coming from Mass (many decades ago) there were plenty of non-white neighborhoods in the larger cities.

Boston area inside Rt 16 (Roxbury/Jamica Plain for a couple w/ parts of Summerville) in the North & East areas
Lowell
Worchester
Springfield

There are groups of illegals scattered around in all the ethnic areas.
Many blacks from Hati/Jamica
Many Chinese and a few other Asian
Hispanic (unsure from where)

Boston area is diverse, but still mostly white.

I don't like going to Springfield, Worcester, or Lowell. There's nothing there anyway.
