7 Weeks into the NFL

What a suprise this year has turned out for me.

I would never have predicted that 7 weeks into the season, Washington would be tied for 1st in the NFC; have the #2 Offense (Seattle who played one more game is ahead of them), and the #4 defense.

<-- skins fan, but missed the game yesterday.

i doubt they would have the #2 offense if they didnt score 50+ points yesterday though heh. but yea, we are doing okay so far!

Giants are right there with 'em! Next week should be alot of fun.

Its going to be an excellent game. It will really be the deciding factor for the Skins. Have they really gotten good, or have they been playing easier teams (well they did beat Seattle though).

It will be the same for Big Blue. They pulled out a miracle against Denver but got beaten by Dallas and San Diego.
The Giants are the NFL's #1 scoring team right now. 🙂

Very true. They are both pretty evenly matched on offense. HOwever, isn't the beloved patriot's defense statistically better than the Giants by a lot.

We shall see 🙂 🙂

it was a good day and bad day for me. Yesterday, my Niners were demolished, on the other hand, my hometown skins put up biiig points. Win, lose for me.

Coaching! Finally the Skins have good coaching 🙂
Anyone know what the early point spread is on the Wash-NYG matchup?

Giants defense is at the bottom of the heap. 30th overall, I believe. 🙁 The secondary needs alot of help. The run defense is better than the stats though. They played really well in the first few games, then got hit by Tomlinson. A few big runs by some other RB's really killed their stats, but I'm not worried about the Giants defending the run. I don't think they're pretty evenly matched on offense. I think the Giants have way more weapons offensively, and are a better offense as a whole. Beating up on the Niners doesn't do much for me. 🙂

They took a lot out after they were up so many points (same goes for the offense). Let their 2nd and 3rd string people do some stuff.

But yeah, i have them on my fantasy team as well, was hoping for a little more points.

Very valid statement.

It all starts with the nine in the box strat that Gibbs has employed to literally nullify any blitz attempts on Brunell. Let's face it, he has been insanely hard to sack with this scheme! What does this mean? That speedy Santana Moss can burn whoever is covering him (I don't think anyone can defend him 1v1) and Brunell now has time to find him. Joe Gibbs has resurrected Brunell from the ashes, amazing.

Also impressive that Lavarr Arrington finally is back in the lineup, glad that drama is over. He had what, 11 tackles yesterday?

The NFC East is a treat to watch. My Iggles are still the team to beat, but Washington has me worried. Dallas and NY are proving themselves to be the cream of the crop as well. 😉

Aside from Darrell Green, my favorite football player. It is definitely good to seem him back. I love watching what i think is open field for a guy get closed when i see an enormous blur come and drill the guy for a loss of yardage 😛

I dont think they are this year. BUt i agree, the NFC East is most definitely the best division in football this year.

As far as the 9 in the box strategy. I think Brunell has finally got his aim back. This year he is hitting guys pinpoint, right where he wants him. Did you see him throw to Moss with 2 defenders on him in close coverage. Hit him right in stride, right in front, right over the defenders hands. Excellent throw. Not to say the strategy isn't working, but i think there are a number of other improvements that add up.

1st in the NFC EAST (not NFC).

NFC East is Good but the NFC South is also very strong, 5-1 Tampa, 4-2 Atlanta (with winnable game tonight), and 4-2 Carolina.

Good point, forgot about that 😱

I was watcing ESPN a week or so ago and they were talking about who the best team in each conference was... mostly everyone agreed that Indianapolis was in the AFC also some said Pittsburgh... and in the NFC they said Dallas or the Falcons were the team to beat. I've been a Dallas fan for a long time so I hope they go, but, realistically, it is so close and such a tight conference anyone could go, especially in the NFC east with Dallas, Philly, Wash, and the Giants, it would just be a coin flip between any of them. Who does Dallas play next week?

They're at Arizona this week (they should win easily), and they have the bye next week. Then they visit Philly.
