Not all 12v fans will start up at 7v.

Papst makes a really great 120mm Vario fan, would be my top choice as the best quiet 120mm fan.
Its thermaly controled has 2 speeds:

22db / 41.2cfm
39db / 82.4cfm

I think about 30C it kicks into high gear, but i think you can over-ride this, and control it yourself. The Panaflo L1a will work at 7v, but it not all that quiet still.

is the 30 dba the panaflo 120 mm loud just bought 2 27 dba 92mm l1 and 3 80mm 21 dba the quitest i could find. putting 92 in front (in) and back (out) and two 80 on side (in) and 80 on top (out) you think premier 300 watt will be anough power

The sunon full power draws quite a bit, i had a rheostat dial on one and only could lower maybe 5 % before it would stop, the "quiet" 120 sunons are a bit more scalable but i've never used the 7v mod

how much is sound lowered in 7 volts and what kind of air flow is lost? I do have a sunon 120mm low rpm fan i could try it on, would it be better to run a Sunon 120mm 35.5 dba 69 cfm at 7 volts "if it works" or a panaflo at the full 12 volts 92mm dba 27 cfm 42
