Can't wait for someone to say this isnt hot ;)

Anyways, here we go, Outpost looks to have got it's pricing wrong on this USB hub. Everyone else; including BUY.COM, sells this for at least $74 ! Manufacturer is NEWER TECHNOLOGY.

UHUB 7-port USB Hub, POWERED. Styling is definitely I-MAC; adds a bit of style to the bland P.C environment.

Go to Outpost and search for Item# 71345

... and the manufacturer's page ...
here

And dont forget you can use your Flooz here.

Oh, and if anyone knows any reason why this hub would not be 100% p.c compatible, then please let us know.

It doesn't say anything about being for the PC.

Do USB hubs work with any platform?

It clearly says it is for MAC on the site, but I don't know if it would work on other platforms or not.

For MAC
Outpost # 71345

Newer has supported the Macintosh platform for 14 years, and that support has been extended to the iMac in the form of two great peripherals (with more in the works):

The new uHub extends the iMac's capabilities, therefore extending your ability to do more.

Well I am pretty sure USB is a standard across all platforms. It is just being labelled Mac because of it's good/ugly looks.
Mine is on order.

Not to crap on the post but check e-bay. I see them selling for the same price there so I wouldn't buy these hopin to hock them there. Not a bad find though.

Nippyjun... yeah, you're right. I considered buying a few of these with my American Greetings Flooz, and then 'Egay'ing them, but the hassle involved in that wasn't really worth it to me. Not for the small amount of profit I'd make.
Unlike the recent Sony Spressa deal at Staples; that turned into a nice $120 clear profit!

But if you want one of these fast and from a reliable supplier, then this deal is going to be hard to beat :)

I bought one of these online last night at about 10:30 PM EST, and it arrived this morning.......What more could you ask for? And it appears to be compatible with PC, as well as Mac.

AND THERE WAS A FREE YELLOW YO-YO IN THE BOX!!!! Excellent deal!

I just received mine...it looks okay and says that it's compatible with Windows machines. It's a lot bigger than I expected it to be, and the USB A-to-B cable it comes with is very short.

Also, there were two stickers on the box. One said No Warranty and the other said No Returns.

It was still a good deal though :)

I got mine last night. It is a wild looking hub. And the cable IS SHORT.
If you're still going to order this, you might want to toss in this 10' Cable for another $4.95.
It will be worth it :)

now says order takes 1-2 weeks, i guess you could just order 2 4 port hubs from comp geeks @ 7 bucks and 2 a-b cables from wherever and have somewht same situation, one more port, one more ac port (if it is self powered, i cant remember right now and too lazy to go check)

just an idea/way around

All USB hubs are compatible with ANY machine that can use USB.

Kinda like, "will the same gas I put into my ford truck work in my nissan pickup?"

You bet they will...

Also....expect USB hub type devices to drop in price. USB 2.0 is on the horizon...360 or 480 MB/S I believe...kewl

As much as I hate the new Mac look, I can't afford to spend anymore. I just ordered one and am planning to spray paint it to match my black case...I know, I know too much time on my hands...:p

The 10' USB A, B cable that I got (already!), to use with this hub is item # 64867. Wow, they're fast!
And all that speed for only $4.70 ;) That's an "after ebates" price.

BTW, the cable they sent me is an "APC" brand. Mine is "clear" though.
