7 on SSD XP on HDD

Hi, I'm going to be installing windows 7 on a 180GB Intel SSD and xp on a 3TB Seagate. It is my understanding you unplug the HDD install 7, then same thing for xp. At the end you just connect them both and it will boot as primary into the SSD... is this correct? My other question is do I need to install Intel driver software for the SSD when I'm in XP? If so, will this software take care of the TRIM aspect when in XP?

Thanks.

there's easier way. put HDD on 1st SATA connector and SSD on second. no need to disconnect anything. install XP on HDD. install 7 on SSD. Win 7 will set up bootloader that you can pick between two.
There's no "SSD driver", you'll need to have AHCI driver in order to get XP to install.
