Right after the Columbine tragedy happened I got a call from my son's elementary school telling me "they were having a problem with your son" and that I needed to come to the school. I asked them if he was hurt or sick and they said no but that it was serious problem and I really needed to come to the school. Well I went there and they told me that my son and a couple of others had been playing war on the playground and using there fingers as guns. I started laughing more out of relief than anything and the principal thought he would take that oppurtunity to start lecturing me about appropriate behaviors and responsible parenting etc. I listened to about 33 seconds of that sh!t, pulled him up short, told him he may be overreacting just a tad, and told him if they even thought about punishing my kid I would be back to crawl up somebodies ass and explode (exact words). I never heard another word from them about it. We are responsible as parents to keep the schools focused on what is important and what is not.
