<< Limited traffic + marketing BS = unlimited traffic within reason >>

Yea, I say that when I discovered the site. It struck me that "within reason" was their escape hatch for a site that is wildly successful and presumably a financial success that can afford to pay its own way.

Otherwise, I take it to mean - ah, don't worry about it. If you're in the top .02% of our bandwidth users, we'll let you know - otherwise - fergetaboutit.

What's the worst case alternative?
powweb.com asks you to pay-up or decrease traffic or go elsewhere - it's gonna' cost no matter where you go, *IF* you've got that high a level of traffic. Don't ya' think?

*IF* they can deliver, it is certainly an attractive offer in most everyway.

Also, they (their subsidiary, www.15domains.com) offers Domain Name Registration for $15/year, whether or not they host the site. <light goes off> Hey, I ought to post that as my first original "Hot Deal"!

ImNew, that looks pretty good on your host. Maybe I'll give them a go.

Anyone know what the best(cheapest) host is that offers a shopping cart of unlimited (or at least 500) items?

Looks pretty good, most especially at $3/month - don't see how very light sites, say for individuals, can beat that.

"Limited" to 50MB.

But their Home page / FAQ / etc seems unusually "thin" or "light", especially as compared to powweb.com (70MB) or phpwebhosting.com (125MB). For example, say I needed 100MB of storage. Is the extra 50MB and extra $1/month? $5? At this penny pinching end of the spectrum, that might tip the hosting decision.

Did I miss an info mountain somewhere?

i have a business site hosted there, and ya the FAQ is small but you can always email them and they reply within a day, i also emailed the people in the Clients section and asked for feedback, they didnt have any complaints. You pay all $36 when you signup for the hosting account, good for a year. Only bad thing is its limited to 50MB i think i will need more space and hopefully i can make some kind of deal with them or something :/but i like them overall :)

ImNew> Dang..wish that $3/month host also allowed you to add a mysql database on top of that..even for a couple more $ a month. I'm hosting my own site at the moment, but doing so on a cable connection..and I know if/when it takes off it'll quickly outgrow the upstream bandwidth the connection can handle. Anyone know of any hosts that support PHP4/MySQL and have sendmail, etc for a decent price? Guess prob couldn't find one much cheaper than $9/month tho :(

At Whizhost, am I reading it right when they say Unlimited POP Emails, because I was wondering if I get my own mail server and multiple accounts? Like example anonymous@anonymous.net and then a seperate account like anonymousfoot@anonymous.net, so maybe I could set up my entire family with a mail server. Thanks in advance, as this sounds like a good deal.

From a nearby thread, you might want to check winhoster hosting company They call it their "Pro Shopping Cart program"

I found it.

Care to spend a bit of your time to further investigate and then kindly report back the info?

TIA!

I suspect the win2000hoster.com is the same thing as tacidhost.com which does not exist at all now.

I would NOT give win2000hoster.com a try, for it tells by its name. This year is 2001 and Windows XP is going out. Are they going to change their name? Anyhow their name suggests they are just a scam.
