I think I'll skip driving in circles and give the APF2K8 demo a try.

I'm looking forward to trying out both of them, NASCAR especially. I never could get into the sport, but I always enjoyed racing online in NASCAR games, especially with my brother. Besides, it looks fantastic for it's first new-gen effort.

I've been wanting to try APF2K8. How many teams/participants do you need to start an online league? If the game is decent, I'd put down $60 just to be in an AT league.

I think the leagues are from 4 - 16 people. An AT league would be great, but it would be a lot funner with more than a few people.

I'll try the NASCAR demo out. Hopefully it will be better than years past. I miss NASCAR when it was Sierra on the PC. THAT was NASCAR my friends.

Instead of downloading the demo, I took advantage of my part-timer with Gamestop, and checked out a copy to bring home. I'll keep it a few days before I take it back, but a quick 10-lap run at Daytona gave good impressions. The handling is much more sensitive than I thought it would be, and the graphics look pretty damn good IMO. Lots of trackside detail, the lighting is generally fantastic, and the car models look good enough.

I tried hopping into an online match, but after a few stalled searches, I was finally able to get as far as qualifying in one server after about 6 or 7 minutes of trying. While qualifying, though, my 360 completely locked up. I was scared that I would get the 3 rings when I turned it back on, but all is well right now, and I've already played a game of football with no problems. I've already gotten the RROD last October on my first unit, and swapped it out with a brand new unit from the store, so hopefully this one isn't on it's last legs as well.

I thought the NASCAR demo looked great. I didn't really finish the race. Just messed around. Caused my tires to overheat and blow out, and wrecked most of the other cars. I really like the demo but I wonder how long it would take for me to get tired of playing it, though... Guess I'll have to rent it to see 🙂
