I have never played L4D. Is the community civil enough that it would be fun to play as a newb?

I haven't played in awhile, but the community is one step up from the LoL/HoN/DOTA community's. If you have friends to play with you're okay, otherwise prepare to get kicked from a server if you make any little mistake or anything that just isn't what the person hosting or whatever likes, or if someone drops 90% of the time everyone else just leaves.

They just released an update for L4D2 with 5 new campaigns. I'd say it's a good time to buy.

Thanks. I'll save my money then.

If you have some friends to play with, the l4d series is awesome.

If you play random public games, you could join and leave a dozen games before you find a good one.

A lot of people have problems working as a team. Success in l4d absolutely depends on teamwork.

It helps if you have a mic. A lot of times a team will kick people that do not have a mic.

I have somewhere around 1,500 or 1,600 hours in l4d2 and something like 700 - 800 in l4d. The game is amazing, I love the teamwork, playing as special infected in versus is lots of fun.

But you have to have people that are willing to work as a team. This is not like counter-strike our tf2 were people can run off and do their own thing. If one person breaks off from the team and dies, it handicaps the remaining 3.

Teamwork, communication, planning, all play key factors in l4d/l4d2.

versus, prob not. co-op, more likely but not a sure thing. best advice is to play a friend. learning the maps are the biggest thing. also, lots of AT players im sure we would be nicer to you lol. versus mode may take a while for it to be friendly for you. whenever you play with non-jerks, add them to your friends list.

some people only care about winning, but a lot of people just dont want to be trolled or play with dickheads.
