FYI, UPS drivers are unionized.
Last I read FedEx drivers were not union.

They aren't. The thing is people that don't work for UPS don't understand and never will because UPS doesn't allow filming of operations. Your driver will start his day with ~300 packages in his truck lucky if he has room to walk down the center of it. He starts by doing his priority sevice level (NDA, NDA Savers, Two-Day) packages because they are the most profitable and are refundable upon service failure. A NDA Saver going to a residence has no time commitment except end of day. He will run off what ground/major "dump" stops he can with his air services. Then he does his businesses, then he does his residentials, THEN he picks up his businesses. Residentials are not particularly special to your driver because unless you are in a semi rural, or rural area, they will make up a small time of his day. His manager will give him a lot less shit for not being able to make a residence than he would get for missing a business stop. Chances of him being able to come back are slim as his pickups will take up the rest of his day.
