NEW DELHI - A strong earthquake of 7.2 magnitude on Sunday night hit India's southern Nicobar Islands, but there were no immediate reports of any death or destruction, Press Trust of India news agency reported. Thailand authorities have issued a tsunami warning.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which hit at 9:12 p.m., was in Nicobar, PTI quoted meteorologists as saying.

The quake also jolted the southern Indian state of Madras, PTI said. The region was the worst hit in India by the December tsunami which killed at least 10,749 people. Another 5,640 people were reported missing and presumed dead, most of them on the remote Andaman and Nicobar archipelago.

Next time you're at a sporting event and they starting doing the wave just stand up and do a deadman float with your arms stretched out in front and your head down.
