At 0:30 AM Alaskan Standard Time on December 19, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 7.3 occurred 70 miles/113 Km southeast of Amchitka, Alaska. (Refer to the United States Geological Survey for official earthquake parameters.) This earthquake may have generated a tsunami. If a tsunami has been generated, the waves will first reach Adak, Alaska at 1:16 AM AKST on December 19.
