Imo fvck the wannabee dictator Bush, and fvck 7/11 - I'll never shop there again.
I don't like Bush and never voted for him, but this post is idiocy in the extreme.

Bush might be a wannabe dictator, but Chavez IS a dictator. Get a clue.

And about your linked article, if Bush led the 2002 revolt, and if it was a right-wing movement, then why did the left-wing CTV (Confederation of Workers of Venezuela) labor union start it by calling for a 2-day general strike and marching on the headquarters of PDVSA? Why did the Venezuelan National Guard, under Chavez's orders) fire on the unarmed CTV demonstrators? Why did Chavez then take control of the Venezuelan media for 3 days to suppress that information? Why did the Commander of the Venezuelan Armed Forces, Lucas Rincón Romero, announce that Chavez had voluntarily resigned? After Chavez regained the presidency 2 days later, why did he then reappoint Rincón, the man who supposedly betrayed him to Carmona, as Commander of the Army and then make him the Interior Minister in 2003?

Yeah, it don't fsckin' add up, now does it?

There's no question about Bush ties including funding, tactical support, and the blessing that Washington would receive the new government. The only question remains is about your reading comprehension where you gathered from the article he "led" it.

The message is clear to the Bush admin, quit meddling with others' government. Apparently you don't like how Chavez handled the coup attempt against him, for that I provide an e-tissue, but does not change the facts.

Chavez, democratically elected, has been far from evil by any stretch of the imagination. This government doesn't like his socialist policies because its not as profitabe and secure for our interests, so we demonize him...for that I offer another e-tissue.

There was a coup because he's a dictator. Not much of a democracy if you have a gun pointed at your head (metaphorically) while you're voting

Whatever the motives, political or business strategy, i still like it.

Agreed. The only way to successfully deal with madmen is to marginalize them and at the same time publically shame them.

So what are your plans for marginlizing and publicly shaming bush?

In 2008 you can vote him out of office, and I bet he will leave. Lets see if old Hugo does the same when it's his turn or if he will get re-elected by 100% of the people like his hero Fidel. People love to praise all those crazy tin-pot dictators but I never see anybody rushing to go live in thier worker utopias.

More of what? punishing a venezulan company/people because their president said something stupid? Why that's like terroists hating/killing us (American citizens) because Bush is an asshat when it comes to international policy and politics.

Are you going to respond to my post as though you actually read it or are you just going to keep spouting talking points from the propaganda-press-release-posing-as-news that you posted?

Chavez, democratically elected, has prevented opposition parties from running.

Chavez, democratically elected, has harassed and imprisoned members of opposition parties.

Chavez, democratically elected, has taken direct control of the media in Venezuela in order to prevent it from running stories unfavorable to him and his administration.

Chavez, democratically elected, has ordered troops to fire on unarmed protestors.

Chavez, democratically elected, has attacked the major left-wing democratic socialist labor union in Venezuela (the CTV) and -- in failing to destroy it -- has had another trade union organized that supports him and then has his government's oil company, the PDVSA (which owns Citgo), favor hiring workers from his pro-Chavez union than the CTV.

Chavez, democratically elected, is trying to abolish the presidential term limits law in Venezuela and have himself appointed president-for-life.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Just because you might not like Bush (as I do not like Bush) is no reason to support someone who's even worse just because you falsely imagine that that someone happens to be representative of your personal political ideology.

Citgo is 100% owned by PDVSA which is the Venezuelan state oil company that Chavez controls almost totally, much to his own personal profit. How that came to be is the TRUE story behind the 2002 revolt, including how Chavez used the cover of the revolt to fire 18,000 PDVSA employees who were CTV union members and then replace them with members of his new pro-Chavez union, the UNT.

So that's not what a dictator would act like?

Fvck that, if the Taliban themselves openned a gas station that sold gas for 10 cents less than anyone else, I'd be first in line. Patriotism doesn't mean anything when it comes to my wallet.

wow you're a dick... to save yourself $1.50 give or take a bit per fillup, you support the taliban.... DIAF

Meh. I don't think I've ever let political motivations or public opinion sway my decisions when money is involved. I buy the cheapest gas around PERIOD. I don't give a crap who it is.

Some people don't buy from Wal-Mart b/c they say that they're evil and that they do more harm than good. I buy from them b/c they are cheap as hell.

I don't really pay attention to where I get gas, I just look at the price. Heh, for a while I thought exxon sold to retailers and didn't have gas stations. Who else does citgo sell through? Please don't say Gate stores, I don't want to support the douche (I hate bush, too).

The prices are best when there is a high volume gas station

Then the station gets more tank refills... = better price... well not always :D

$2.29 @ busy station compared to $2.79 to empty station

Where do you get patriotic obligation out of that article?

7-Eleven is worried that anti-American comments made by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez might prompt motorists to fill-up elsewhere.

That's just plain business sense, not patriotic obligation. Reading comprehension ftw.

Aren't you twelve? I've had nothing but a good life (I do work hard mind you) and one of the major, fundamental, underlying reasons why it has turned out good is because of this country, the way it was founded, and the choices made in history. Not all bad choices, not all good choices (*cough* Bush *cough*), but by God I feel more passion for this country than you feel every time you rub one out to the chick poster on your wall.

If you really mean saving a couple bucks at fillup is better than supporting your country in some way (Although I honestly don't think buying Citgo gas is not-supporting this country, it is the point of the matter), then maybe you should go live in Venezuela or another country and get a taste of what life is like outside your parent's cushy home. I have some idea of what a great life I have here and damn sure respect that privilege.

Goddamn young people with no respect for their country :|

On the little anti US PR tour Chavez is doing with Ahmadinejad they both come off as ten times more intelligent than a certain leader of the free world.

I have to respect anyone who can defend their opinion, no matter how crazy it is.

You don't think............. I'd agree with that......... That's it.

Example:
Taliban gas ---- $1.00
US gas ---- $1.50

You'd actually buy and support this BS? You must be a New York Times Reporter....... :disgust:

For one thing, there'd never be a Taliban gas station in the United States so it's not a likely scenario.
