Anyone want to speculate on the release of a new iPod Touch?
If they are serious about getting people to adopt the watch, they'll need to account for the fact that not everyone who is interested in one will have an iPhone. Sales of the iPod line have slid quite a bit, but with Apple Watch and fitness applications I think it could be a more valuable asset to Apple with these features.
If Apple doesn't refresh the iPod lineup this fall (as many analysts are saying), what about next year? This could make sense if Apple wants to test the waters of the wearable market with their iPhone customers, then if successful, perhaps broaden their customer base with iPod compatibility in the future.
