Also 4 way SLI isnt actually supported in drivers. Which makes running 4 cards all the more silly.
Seems to be working in this particular title...

Wasn't AB reporting the total amount of memory in all the graphics cards? I mean:
6000/4: 1500 MB actually.

Good to know. Thanks for not going gaga over the question.
What's strange about the way he setup his OSD?
Listing all four cards memory usage would be a waste of screen space, since it's mirrored they'd all read exactly the same.
So if you use SLI/Crossfire, it only has half the effective memory. Basically that means SLI with 2GB cards means 2 GB total memory to be used (by both cards). How can SLI with 4 (6GB) cards be using more than 6 GB effective if SLI with two cards uses one cards memory?
Either there is a failure to math, or the effective memory is false. Which is it? I suspect the failure to math.
In other words, you spend your money appropriately and he doesn't? I'd get off your high horse.
1024MB = 1GB, so 6GB = 6144MB.
Yes SLI seems to be working perfectly in that title.
690 SLI half the frames of a single 690.
680 SLI double the frames of a 690
Yes seems to be working perfectly that 4 way SLI driver.
Be it 1 card, 2 cards, or 4 cards, the effective usable memory allowance of Titan is 6GB.
It's true with both CF and SLI, I'm not sure where you got "half" from, it's 100% of 1 card, no matter how many cards you have - never more never less.
If I were to CF my 7950 I'd have 3GB of frame buffer, if I went tri or quad I'd still have 3GB.. If it was a custom card, the box would say 6GB for a 7950 X2, but that's just marketing effective memory buffer would still be 3GB, like the 3GB 590 1.5 effective, or the 4GB 6990 2GB effective...
I don't see what your problem is in this thread. Actually, I hardly ever see what your problem is in any thread. The only common theme in most threads that you post in is that there is a problem and more often than not, it's you.
:hmm:
6GB for one Titan is way overkill, it's a card meant for people who buy 3 of them, then that amount of memory makes sense. All the talk about MS, runt frames and other BS lead me to ditch my CF set-up and go for an NV card. Unfortunately it's a downgrade from 2x7970 and it cost way more.
Its not jealousy. I have many luxury items that cost far more than 4k. But the fact is that all of those items serve a purpose or hold value or have use.
4 Titans has no use. 3 Titans has been proved to be a total waste of energy and money.
You only buy 4 Titans so you can come onto a forum and brag. Heck it doesnt even play the games properly that they were intended for.
Kind of reminds me of the rap videos where a bunch of gangsters drink crystal because they think its expensive and it makes them look cool.
Its like when Americans put big ugly shiny spinning wheels on a Range Rover. Just because you can doesnt mean you should.
id find it more impressive if someone showed us a dual Titan setup done correctly where they get 60 FPS on a 4k monitor and the game was fully playable.
Anyone can buy 4 Titans and 3 big 30" screens and get 25 FPS. Doesnt mean its a good idea or anything noteworthy.
I was far more impressed with the guy who put dry ice cubes on his notebook to OC his 680M SLI.
