They'll probably be ~$50 cheaper than the 2gb editions.

So 6950 1gb @ $249 vs a 6870 1gb @ $239 can only result in price drop for the 68xx series, and will bring really push the prices on gtx 460/560/570.
 
Price are already dropping on the 6850/6870 cards
Right now the cheapest 6850 was $170 AR and the 6870 was $220 AR

Competition is good. 😉
