6990 with 6970 3 way Xfire?

Did. Had to return one cause i couldn't get SLI to work

He did but I think he sent 1 back or something cause they wouldn't fit on his MOBO. (He got the triple slot ASUS models).

Thank you. What i'm thinking about is just returning it and getting a 6970 and a 6990 and just trifire.. Thats if the 590 doesn't blow off the doors of the 6970

I don't see why they can't work together unless the 6990 has some different hardware, but I doubt that and the scaling looks awesome, if those aren't bogus slides.

Why wouldn't they fit on a board like the P8P67 Pro? It seems like those boards are set up specifically for tri-SLI/tri-Crossfire.
 
I'd be confident they'll work together, I've no evidence to back it up but if they were breaking with tradition I think we'd know about it.
