6970 red pixels/banding?

Running native resolution @ 1920x1200, non native seems to make it worse. I'm getting a few flashing red pixels and occasional flashing red horizontal bands. Just upgraded from GTX 7800 KO that always worked. Install went fine AFAIK and otherwise the card seems to be performing inline with expectations. Any ideas?

Re-install the drivers, when you uninstall any previous drivers especially going from nVidia to ATi or vice versa use driver sweeper. If re-installing the drivers doesn't do the trick try it in another PC to isolate the problem to the graphics card. If the problem persists than you probably got a dud card, RMA the sucker.

Psu is seasonic 600w, yes I used a 6-8 pin adapter.

Asus rampage forumla
c2q 6600 @ 3ghz

Used driver sweeper in safe mode, re scanned.

any other ideas?

Never had a problem like this before unless i was really stressing a card.

Thanks for the help, I will try a reinstall.

Sounds like bad memory, however if you running a super old system it could be anything on there dying. Put it in a friend's computer to see if it is the card.

I agree ^

I've had this happen twice. Pretty much always a video card memory issue assuming your power supply is good(sounds like it is).

Kind of strange that it's worse at times and not so bad other times. Knowing I'm on the low end with the 600w PSU and 6/8 pin converter, I tried a small OC to 900/1400 using afterburner expecting things might get worse but instead the pixel problem seemed gone. Coincidence maybe I dono, at any rate the card has to go back. Thanks again for the help.
