6970 or 6950

Right now i currently have a Corsair tx650m PSU and a Sapphire 2g 6950 dirt 3 edition, i was looking to add another card to my build but can't decide if i want a 6950 or 6970, what would be the perks of each and if i run my current 6950 at 6970 clocks would a 6970 run well with it? Thanks!

I would get a 6950 since you already have one. It's cheaper and can generally overclock quite well. I don't see any reason to spend more on the 6970 when you already have a 6950.

Just get a 6950. They're cheaper, only 3% slower clock-for-clock, and the 6970 would be underutilized anyway (it will never max out).

By the way, 6970 crossfire would really be pushing it on that power supply: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4061/amds-radeon-hd-6970-radeon-hd-6950/24

With 6950 crossfire, you'd probably be ok.

I wouldnt risk a 6950 cf with that psu. Get at least hx 750 or even hx 850 to maintain oc room.
