6970 heat question

I am a new proud owner of 2 6970's.

Scenario: I was setting up my computer so my 6970's would have a pci-x slot in between them and not touching one another. Unfortunately, because of the cable that came with the cards it looks as if I need to do that. Now I am stuck with this until the longer 100mm cable gets in.

Question: Has anyone in here had a heat problem when you have two 6970's bumping up against one another?

Well the top card is usually hotter anyway because it's the main card, and the fact that there's a card immediately below it does not help.

You could always use the bottom card as the main and let the top one idle.
