6950 price increase coming?

I've heard from a friend at NewEgg about a potential shortage of some products coming in the next few weeks, and usually he is quite on about his rumors. Mostly the 6xxx series will be seeing some shortages, so expecting the price to jump a little for a bit.

Just ordered 2 of these bad boys before they're out of order. Just wanted to give a heads up! 😎

They might have a price increase, I think that a lot of people jumped on the unlocking bandwagon. Before I knew that I could potentially have 6970 for the price of 260$ I never considered the 6950.

still $279.00 after rebate plus shipping plus there is guy selling XFX version for $260 shipped here in the for sale\trade forums. i bought mine from him

newegg always has a price increase regardless of supply. if they sell a lot of any product, their system automagically raises the price. newegg is really terrible about bumping up the prices of any hot selling computer hardware.

If there's going to be a price increase for the 6950, especially after they're planning to discontinue the flashable model, that would be a crappy thing to do on amd's/retailer's part, and, probably a bad marketing decision too.

Didn't you post the exact same post at Hardforum discussions
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1575854

Looking at your post count in anandtech which is at 4 only, and the post count at Hardforum which is at 8 only and the fact that you have been a member over there for only 12 days and even lesser here, leads me to believe that you are working either for AMD or Newegg or are spreading rumors of shortages creating momentary panic hoping that more people would buy AMD products.

You couldn't have suddenly decided to become an active poster on both the forums with separate ID's.

ASS HOLE, this is so underhanded!!

True, but isn't this obvious, i will take it back and apologize to the OP too if he provides a reasonable explanation to this!

Your referenced manner of personal conversation ("I call BS, this guy gets an apology if I am wrong") is not allowed in the technical forums...you have the right to judge your fellow forum colleagues but you do not have the right to publicly state that opinion if it is negative in nature...take it up in pm with the individual if you want to confirm or refute your suspicions.

The technical forum is NOT the proper venue for you to conduct your witchhunt. If you have suspicions regarding the legitimacy of a post then report the post, voice your concerns, and leave the matter to the moderators.

He said he bought a GTX470 back in October? That and I doubt AMD/Newegg would try anything like this. The number of sales would be a drop in the bucket at best from this type of post.

I guess I over reacted, I am sorry moderators. In the future, I will report the post instead of calling the OP names.
