Does this unlock the extra stream processors that are enabled on the 6970? I'm assuming that the 6950 is basically a locked down 6970 and it unlocks totally.

We already have a thread on this topic.

check out the other thread, and the one on tech powerup

FYI, i ran the all in 1 pack of TUP early this morn. (batch file). it unlocks without upping clocks. clocked it myself to stock 6970 and alls 5 by 5.

will probably go higher when i play crysis on it 😱

Yeah I've been reading around on it. Will probably resell my 5850 with the stock on it and keep my zalman gpu cooler for the 6950..

The memory in the cards is different.. 5GHz for the 6950 and 6GHz for the 6970. From what I've read this is the biggest limitation on whether the BIOS mod is stable. Also a few reports of high idle temps on the unlocked cards.. For what it's worth.

what's the actual stock speed then for the 6970s memory? i mean what yuo see in CCC, not real.?

^^ Who are you calling a nazi? Or was that just an attempt to get Godwin's Law invoked?

^ And my 6950 (like many others) has memory that can handle the 6970's stock 1375MHz and well beyond.
