6950 & 6950 dcii problems/configurations for six monitors

I have currently three active DP-DVI adapters and one mini DP-DVI active adapter!

Im still waiting on one more active DP-DVI adapter to arrive for the dcii!

I also have 6 dvi-dvi cables! and six dell 17'' monitors with dvi connections

I have literally tried every combination of putting cables in the back and it seems as though I can only get four working from the dcii and then when I use the other 6950 with one more dvi connection or mini DP it reverts to using just that one monitor!

all monitors have been working at separate times in odd combination and never all six monitors running together!

I was at one point un-installing catalyst control centre and when it flicked it had five running however I cant even open the control centre to use that now! I ve been trying for two days non stop and Im getting really frustrated in that I will need to do a REM on the dcii

can someone please help

I think 4 is the max you can do with your card. Those that do 6 should have 6 DisplayPorts.

it has four DP ports and two dvi ports.

And I thought any dcii card can display 6 like the 5870 which has 6 DP too!

nevertheless I can only ( from my oint of view) do a maximum of 5 from only the 6950 dc2 as I have three DP adapters and then room for the two dvi ports to be used. However I can only get four monitors to be powered from the 6950 dc2 alone,
