6850 Fan Speed

Hey,

When I let CCC automatically control my Gigabyte HD 6850's fan speed then it runs at 73% or so. I've heard that a BIOS update would fix this but I want to try something else first if possible. Is there a lightweight program that will let me create a fan curve?

Thanks

What are the temps if you manually lower the fan speed?

*edit* FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU I wasted my lifer post here...oh well most I've done in these forums is nef so...meh.

msi afterburner will let you do that
there is a pdf manul available for help at msi web site

At what temperatures or load does it run at 73%?

Mines, sandwiched beside a sound card with 3mm of clearance, runs at 29% idle, and has hit a max of 60% under load hitting about 74 C.

Just checked my GPU-Z log, it hit 63%. Also, it sits in a virtually empty P182.

It runs at 35C when it is at that fan speed. Could it have something to do with running in CrossfireX? Afterburner is good though, but I wish I knew the real problem.
