680i Chipsets Automatically Detect "Certain" Videocards and Increase Performance

...videocards and you can see up to a 25% increase in GPU performance? I think it was Newegg where a user bought the eVGA 680i and plugged in a card that was then automatically overclocked?

Any help on where to find more info on which (I'm assuming nVidia only) cards work best with 680i?

The NVidia website was pretty worthless at first glance. Intuitavely, an eVGA mobo should auto-detect an eVGA GPU?

Are you talking about LinkBoost? It debuted with the nforce 590 chipset and worked with the 7900GTX. It would increase PCIe speed from 100MHz to 125MHz and had zero impact on performance. And no, it did not overclock the GPU.

I've got better 3DMark6 scores (SM2.0/SM3.0) on 680i board than any other Intel chipset-based board. So there is definitely something but it's not a big deal either way. (we're talking about 1~2% higher scores)

Just remember to be careful with this if you use your PCIe slots for something other than the graphics card(s).
