This is a decent little card. I got one a while back for my wife's machine, and it unlocked nicely with no artifacts... XP saw it as a 6800 ultra. Then we had a power spike and it popped her PSU, which in turn took out the card. Newegg is replacing it as we speak. I guess this will push me to get the batteries replaced in my APC...

I imagine I can consider this an upgrade to my current card, an ATI Radeon 7500? ;)
I need a new card in a bad way........

Curious as to what the Cyber Monday mailer is. Is it sent by Newegg themselves?

The XT is the lower end of the 6800 line. It does not follow the same naming scheme as ATI.

here's the specs:

6800 LE/XT - 8 pixel pipes, 4 vertex shaders
6800 - 12 Pixel pipes, 5 vertex shaders
6800 GT / Ultra - 16 pixel pipes, 6 vertex shaders

Some xt have been known to be unlocked for the additional pipes but its not guaranteed of course.

i was going to have to upgrade both mobo and CPU in order to get a PCIe card to support a dell 2407. This is going to be a LOT cheaper.

Is there a faster AGP card in the ~$100 range?

This card will smoke the 6800XT

Wheres your proof on that one? 128 bit vs 256bit. 6800GT and Ultra beat the 1650 pro in oblivion 1600x1200 no prob. Even if the 6800XT doesnt unlock all the pipes or overclock through the roof it will still likely beat it.

Who said anything about the GT or Ultra? 12 pipes vs 8

The 6800XT is easily unlockable and overclockable which puts it right there in pipes and speeds....

the 7600GT rocks this card and is also $100.

the 6800XT isn't even as fast as a 6600GT.

and don't be fooled by the 512MB of ram, this card isn't fast enough to use it.

even if you unlock and overclock the dick out of the 6800xt to 6800u speeds, the 7600gt is STILL faster. and that's before overclocking the 7600gt.

not hot.

We all know this. But you're saying that the 6800XT at stock settings can't keep up with the 1650Pro with 256MB DDR3. Come to think of it, I don't even think the 512MB DDR2 6800XT unlocked to 12 pipes could keep up. If you're gonna buy a 6800XT, get the 256MB DDR3 version. The card will never take advantage of the extra memory.
