6800's 2d quality?!?

Ok so I have an old GF3 by Visiontek and the 2-d quality has been poor since the beginning. Please state which brand of 6800 card you have and what the 2-d quality is like compared to previous cards (ie ATI's NVIDIA's etc..). Thx!

::EDIT:: Come on please! Im trying to decide between Evga or XFX or PNY and dont wanna get stuck with blurry 2-d again!

What im talking about specifically is that my text is blurrier somewhat near the edges of the screen and the edges of my screen are warped going down.
 
I went from a Sapphire Radeon 9500 Pro to a PNY 6800 GT and I can't tell the difference between the two. Except when playing games which obviously the GT SMOKES the old Raddy hehe
 
There is only one simple explanation for why your text is blurrier near the screen edges and the edges of the screen are warped going down.
It nothing to do with your vid card. Its your monitor misbehaving at the rate your video card is operating at.

The warping is due to errors in a screen geometry item called "pin cushion" and the text is blurry at the egde because of either :
a) Focus modulation errors (focus at edge needs to be different than center)
or
b)Convergence errors (red , green and blue images are not aligned at the edges)

It could be the monitor needs adjusting or it may not be able to weok properly at the horizontal and vertical rates your card is working at .
Try lower resolution and lower vertical refresh rates. If this helps, you are pushing the monitor too hard.
If it doesnt help, your monitor needs service.

My monitor is a Samsung 19inch 900p that I received when i sent in my old samsung. My refurb is about 2 years old but I just thought it wasn't possible to have text line up exactly and be perfectly clear at all corners of teh screen? I tried to mess with the pin cushion and it helps a little but its not 100% straight and clear like the LCD i use at work. Is this normal for a CRT?
 
Whether the problem is with your monitor or not, I feel that the 2D IQ with my 6800 GT is better then wth my old FX 5900. The FX 5900 wasn't bad by any means, but the colors are nicer with the GT.
 
as good or better than my BBA 9800 Pro which the eVGA 6800 Gt replaced. It doesn't suck on my 19 inch NEC monitor.
 
just got my 6800GT in, 2D looks better than my ASUS 4200

all 6800Gts as of right now are the same card, coming off the same assembly line, 2d should be identical on every brand.
