6800nu or 6600gt

I can either get a 6600gt AGP or 6800.
the 6600gt is £152 ($281)
the 6800 is £203 ($375)

don't say 6800gt or x800pro, they are generally £275 ($500) or more here and i'm not paying that much.

is the difference enough?
i could also get hl2 now if i went 6600gt, which would be good.
this is taking into account selling my old card (9600pro) to my friend for £40 ($73) (he currently has a 9200se 😀isgust😉

a64 3000+
1gb ram
9600 pro

I would get the 6800 and try to get the 256 mb version. Then unlock the pipelines.

I had a BFG 6800 OC and I didn't think it was very much faster then my 9700Pro so I took it back. In exchange I purchased a BFG 6800GT which I expect to put my 9700Pro to shame.

only 900mhz memory 🙁
i dunno... the 6800 looks nice especially if the softmod works but i want hl2 now (well, soon 🙂) and at stock they seem similar to one another...
