PROBLEM 1:
In case anyone else wants to contribute, here's my problem in detail. I have a dual-DVI output card labeled ONE and TWO and both my LCD and plasma are connected via DVI:
With only plasma on ONE - Windows does not load after normal boot, only blank screen.
With only plasma on TWO - same as above.
With only LCD on ONE - computer starts up normally.
With only LCD on TWO - same as above.
With LCD on ONE and plasma on TWO - computer starts normally with image only on LCD until I activate plasma in control panel.
With plasma on ONE and LCD on TWO - computer boots, Windows does not load.
While booting, the plasma displays all POST information (regardless of port), but once in Windows, the plasma is recognized only after it is selected in the nVidia control panel and ONLY on port TWO. So odd. As I said, my 6600GT did not have this problem, but I was using a 77-series driver... I hope that fixes it, but I doubt since the computer didn't even start up with the plasma plugged in when it was supposed to be running on the generic VGA driver with Windows...
PLEASE HELP!!!
PROBLEM 2:
I really only play HaloPC, and I used the -timedemo to run a number of benchmarks ranging from 640x480 with noAA/AF to 1280x768 with 8xAA/16xAF and my new XFX AGP 6800 and it only beats my old (and now defunct) XFX AGP 6600GT at low resolutions. The 6600GT wins all the high-res contests. W-T-F?
I just unlocked the 6800 last night to 16/6 using RivaTuner and have done no OC'ing yet and I haven't rerun the benchmarks, but I want to know if it's even worth it. I know XFX isn't the most reputable brand around, but I expected to see better numbers than this. Both cards stomp all over my old ATI 9600, but I just expected a stronger showing from the 6800 - even without the unlocks/Oclocks... This combined with the DVI display issue really irritates me.
I made the charts in Excel and I'll post a picture of the test results when I get home. Thanks in advance.
