6800nu for WoW?

How's the 6800nu performance compare to 6600GT in World of Warcraft? under heavy AoE in MC or BWL.

If you're talking AGPs, there's no reason a 6800NU shouldn't beat a 6600GT at everything.

6800NU is a great choice for WoW. Its 256 bit design architecture gives it an upperhand compared to the 6600GT's 128 bit structure.

I use a 6800nu default clocked in WoW and all other modern games with no problems. WoW doesn't put near the amount of stress on the system that doom3, BF2, or F.E.A.R. does. WoW is actually playable with my geforce4 video card

If you're thinking of upgrading from a 6600gt to a 6800nu, it's not worth it.. It will only be about 5% faster in directx games (unless you unlock and overclock the 6800). Instead, get a good directx card like the X800XL or unlocked x800gto2 - both will stomp a 6800nu in WoW.

I wish AATech would review WoW in more of their benchmarks. Their last article does not cover a single next generation card.

I disagree with you on that- do you have links? I have a 6800 (and had two others) and have a couple 6600GTs- that has not been my experience or reviewers from what I've seen.

The 6800 should always outperform a 6600GT due to it having more memory bandwidth and one more vp.

So, you think it is worth the upgrade from a 6600gt to 6800nu for an extra 5-12fps in games? I never said a 6600gt was faster. I'm a little low on the 5% difference, but I still don't think it's worth it

Now take a look at the DirectX games you linked and the x800xl. It's about 2x as fast as a 6600gt in those games, so there's a worthy upgrade. (WoW is DirectX)

Not a worthy upgrade... wait a month or two and buy an x850XT or the highest AGP card, that they still sell (since their phasing it out).
