6800GT - Will they be ~$320 again?

Hello all. I was just wondering if these cards will ever hit $320 again, or if nvidia plans on taking advantage of the fact the market will bear a $400 pricetag for these . . .

They are selling very well by all indications, they'd be idiots to reduce the price while the demand is so high. Perhaps the Holiday season will bring some nice hot deals 🙂

I agree none of the places I usally buy stuff from in houston
Directron or Axiontech are selling any of these cards below 450 bucks with the most expensive GT being sold for over 550..
and peeps are buyign them up...
even pricewatch is showing these cards at insane prices...
peeps are being conned into thinking this is the new top dog card instead of the Ultra and are paying the Ultra prices for it..

Hey Chu, check out this thread in Hot Deals - LINK

They aren't available for pre-order, but you can sign up at the vendor's site to be notified when the cards are in stock.

doobie

That's an awesome deal Doobie! I doubt they will be able to keep up with the orders@that price, and yes I think they are idiots for not making more off the card 😛

Maybe next year.

When supply catches up to demand and a few months go by with the x800gt as competition. Everybody is buying these up like they cure cancer (myself included) so don't expect any changes to the prices soon. I've seen these babies being sold for $500 on some sites - which is ridiculous - but I bet you somebody is paying that somewhere and until that stops you won't be seeing them cheap.

I have given up trying to find a GT for less than 399 hehe.

btw anybody want to buy a 5900 that clocks to 450/900? 😉

Yeah, if you didn't land one of the $280 GTs from CompUSA, you are out of luck. The next time you can buy a GT for sub $300 will be around the time the NV50 and R500 come out.

I just replaced my FX5900(450/900) with one of my GTs

😉 The eVGA from ZZF cost me $399 and the BFG from BB $384.

If you were going to buy 2 GT's why didn't you just wait for the PCIX GT's and Dual PCIx16 mobo. You could have run in SLI. DOH!!!!

Because I have two fast computers(2.8 in a 865 and 3.25 in a 875)😀 Actually I ordered the BFG from BB when they were on sale, but they kept jerkin around on when it would ship. So when I found one in stock at ZZF, I ordered it with the intenion of cancelling my BB order after I was sure the eVGA was on it's way. As luck would have it, they both shipped at the same time. I'll probably keep 'em both.

nice. i'm surprised retailers aren't charging like 600-800 for those cards. you know the hardcore people would just have to have them and these stores could make a killing.
