6800gt vs 6800gs

While playing in a dod server i saw two guys yelling at eachother disputing the 6800gt and the 6800gs. One said the 6800gt was better while the other guy was saying that the 6800gs was better. Which is better? I tired to look it up and i couldnt find it. Can you guys help me out?

They're both very close.

I think the 6800GT does slightly better at high settings/rez because of its 16pp, & the 6800GS slightly better at lower settings/rez due to its 12pp, but higher clocks.

The 6800GT and the 6800GS have very close performance, but the 6800GS is better for only one reason, his overclockin capabilities are amazing you can overclock this card from his 425mhzto 515mhz and 1100mhz of memory!! that equals and in some cases outperforms the 6800GT thats its expensive. So the price/performance value is the really gem of this card.

Yeah, but the 6800GT usually OCed well past Ultra speeds too 😉

Really, your best bet is whichever you can get cheapest.

Not to thread-jack or anything, but if I friend was to offer me a 6800gt agp for less than I could buy a 6800gs, then it wouldn't be a big mistake?

hmm looks like I made the right choice then I got my ASUS 6800GT for half the price of a similar 6800GS....at a retail store...thank god for the 6800gt being considered old stock😀
