6800GT resolution question

I think what may be a better IQ comparision would be-
1280x1024 4xAA/8xAF and 1600x1200 no AA/ 8x AF

What would the IQ be like that way? And which would perform better?

gobeavs, your sig says you are waiting for GTs to get in stock. Newegg has several models in stock at the moment.
 
16x12 2xAA 8xAF is obviously the best option for IQ, i wouldnt use 4xAA with 16x12, theres no aliasing at 2x anyway.
 
i play at 16x12 if possible, regardless of aa/af possibility... my eyes like the higher res and can ignore the minor jaggies it makes to sacrifice AA
 
there is absolutely no comparison...1280x1024 w/ 4xAA/8xAF looks way better than 1600x1200 w/ no AA/AF. I cant even game w/o AA/AF anymore, its too ugly
 
I prefer 1600x1200. I try to use 8xAF if I can. I don't really worry much about AA when running 1600x1200.

Try both and see which you like better and the framerate you get. Your opinion is the only one that matters.
 
I like at least 2xAA even at 1600x1200, and I will gladly drop all the way to 1024x768 so I can at least get at least some AA over higher resolution.
