6800GT question

I read that some GTs o/c better than others.
Is there anyway that I can know if a card that has the gt core has the potential to o/c good.(e.g specific memory)
Also does anyone know this model? I would like your opinion on it.
Thankz

From what I have seen most of them reach past Ultra levels by a bit and thats about as far as they go. Of course there are a few random ones that can reach much further but not many. I personally have never seen that brand before. so I have no idea.

Thankz JBT. It's a European brand,so that explains it. We have serious lack of NV40 cards here in Greece.
Is there anyway that I can know(except the quality of the card) if it's good?(as I said a standard type of mem chips or anything else?)

For OCing though its just the luck of the silicon. You have no way of knowing, of course thats how Intel and AMD officially ramp up the speeds of their processors. They just get a better peice of silicon each time.

Try using coolbits 2 to find your stable o/c speeds, then use something else to oc your GT to them. Of course, if you wait a few months (and hold off on EXTREME oc'ing) you can replace the stock cooling solution and get the Arctic Cooling NV5 6800 cooling solution, it should give you a good amount of oc'ing headroom.

The fact is that I don't have the card yet. I'm just asking this because I want to know if there's anything that I should try to avoid getting a 6800gt card.

All the GT's should have 2ns memory on them. I forget what brand most of them use though.

Most are samsung bfgs. Some are hynix.

It's 2.0ns and as you can see, the memory stock clocks are already at the theoretical max clocks of these memory.

so even though the core can reach ultra+ speeds, don't expect the memory to oc linearly.

will little performance gains be gained if the memory cannot be increased and only core? do they have to be synced on the 6800? is memory bandwidth king? DO I NEED SLEEP?
