6800GT PCIe??

Mrvile

Anyone have any idea when this comes out and what it'll cost? It shouldn't cost too much more than the AGP version but I dunno.

I need to know about how much it will be because I wonder if I should cut my 939 3500+ down to a 939 3000+ and get 2 6800GT's instead of 6600GT's and SLI em together.

Confused must be my common state of mind when it comes to computers.

😛 Well the 6600GT is the best card in its price range, 200 dollars. I too am considering going SLI. One of the problems though is the lack of pci express cards. It suprises me that nvidia will release a pci express motherboard but only have a 200 dollar card to support it. At this point im considering either 2x6600GT's or 1x6800GT and then consider getting another down the line. Hopefully someone knows when a 6800GT pci express version is coming out. I would assume soon considering their new line of boards are pci express only.

Because like the question of the thread asks, there isnt anything better right now in a pci express version. And explain to me again, what exactly is wrong with the 6600GT?

nothing is wrong with it, i jsut tend to like the better stuff.........no such think as a budget hard-core gamer to me

Not exactly, the 2x6600GT's outdo the 6800 ultra in halo and 3dmark2005 but fall short of the GT in doom 3. But you cant really base the overall performance on just 3 benches.

your posts are so pointless.

2 6600 gt's in sli performs around the same as or near the 6800 ultra. the reason why this is good is because a person doesnt have to buy both at the same time. buy one now, and when you need mroe power, buy the other one. still, together, they cost about the same as the 6800 gt.

Ok here's my logic. The 6800ULTRA costs about 600 bucks AGP, probably a little more for PCIe. However, if you can get 2 GTs for 100 more bucks and get like 75% more performance, it would be a deal. I'm afraid though if the GT PCIe ends up costing like 450, 500 bucks I'll just stick with 2 6600GT's for like half the price of a ULTRA.

Well, not everyone is like you. All your posts in this thread is about "me" and "I". If you want to spend $1000 on two Ultras, we can careless. Not everyone wants to spend that kind of money on graphic cards.

i've been wondering when the 6800gt pcie is comin out since i read previews for them weeks ago. i dont think anyone knows, i've searched all over the net but can't find a date.
