6800GT Overclocking Question

I recently purchased an eVGA 6800GT and have it overclocked to 418/1.14 and my 3DMark03 scores are generally in the low 11,000's. I have an Athlon64 3200+ @2.53. I have seen people with slower CPU clocks and similar GPU clocks with significantly higher scores. Is my bottleneck my ram, only 1 GB @3200? Or so scores vary that much dependent on individual processors? Thanks a lot.

Drivers, settings, ram timings, chipset, stability of the overclock, heat issues, all factor in. Your score is high enough to reflect that you have a very playable setup so forget about 3DMock and get gaming already 😉

Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking the same thing myself, but it anytime I run one of the cursed benchmarking programs, I become a little down and begin my quest to tweak my system more.

Bah! that's silly. There are so many tweaks some use to get better 3Dmock scores that it's pointless to compare to them. Besides, I didn't buy a BFG GT OC just to turn on the looks like crap settings you have to use for high 3Dmocks 😉

To get an accurate score make sure of these things:

Make sure you have installed you mobo/agp drivers
Got to the Nvidia control panel and force AA/AF off
Set quality settings to high performance
Make sure vsync is off.

Run 3dmark again and tell me your score. Should be around 13k
