6800gt or X850?

Hey i'm tryin to upgrade and am going to purchase either a 6800 GT or a Sapphire X850 pro. Both are AGP and i can get both for the same price so now i just need some opinions on which is better and which will last longer (better able to handle future games) Benchmarks put the ATI ahead however when it comes to doom 3 (and call of duty) the tables turn and since future games will be using that engine i was wondering about that(though the ATI plays more of the games that i have and will buy better that the Nvidia)
-Thanks

Whichever is cheaper. I know the AGP versions of 6800GT's are being rooted out so they're becoming less and less in stock so the prices of 6800GT's may be a little high. I have the 6800GT and its a remarkable card capable of running games like FEAR, HL2, BF2, etc.

Aside from that matter, I feel that ATi has the best image quality. My 9600SE runs pictures and texts in photoshop way better then my 6800GT... anyways just had to get that off of my mind.

both cards are great. if warranty matters at all to you, the 6800gt cards(bfg, evga, xfx) have lifetime warranties. Might be something to consider.

hint: even the X800XL is slightly faster overall then a 6800GT. X850XL blows it out of the water, even without SM3 (which only like two games currently use anyway)

He said pro, not XL. If you are going to invest that much into AGP, I'm sure you can get a X850XT for a good price. Buy it used or something. I don't know if GTO2's are AGP, but that would be a good option. At least get the XL.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Please stop making up video cards. There is a X850 pro aand X850XT (PE) but no X850XL. The 6800 GT and X800XL both destroy the X850 pro as the pro is a 12 pipe card.

Hes not making up cards. Look, you can tell it's a friggn typo. Here's what he meant...

Even the X800XL is faster than a 6800GT... SO

if you get an X850Pro, it will blow the 2 cards out of hte water (Esp the 6800GT).

Here's what I have to say. X800XL < 6800GT, but in price/performance its better.

If you're going to be spending so much, I suggest a 7800GT which blows everything out of the water.
