6800GT OC to 6800 Ultra: disappointing

I OC'd my 6800GT (eVGA) to Ultra speeds and the increase was meager, at best. I've heard people say they've gotten up 13,000 in 3DMark03 at Ultra speeds, and I'm not even clearing 12,000. Am I doing something wrong?

Futuremark is a rather poor way to see a difference in performance. CPU speed calculates into it rather heavy. Also even with an A64 3000+ you might be cpu limited.

Ok: Try using the 61.77's

I also see that you are running an A64 3000, if it's a New Castle core kick it up to 220fsb. My 3000 did 2200 out of the box w/ no extra voltage.

Here's my perspective, I didn't buy a A64/GT combo to run it on "looks like shiat" settings which are required for high 3DMocks 😉

As RacerX said - you overclocked your card by 10% and your score went up by 10% - what more do you expect?

If you really care about boosting your score so much, then you better get overclocking that A64. 2 Ghz is pretty piddly (isn't that stock?) - most people are getting Newcastles and overclocking the heck out of them, which explains their higher scores.

I'd also say that since your card is already over GT specs out of the box the change to Ultra speeds isn't that dramatic....50Mhz vs 30Mhz overclock....
