6800gt leadtek heatsink..

anybody own this videocard and find the fan to be a bit loud? has anybody changed to an after stock heatsink such as the vf700?

Seriously, try this. I have an evga 6800gt and ive been running this w/o any probs for a few months. It allows you to change the cards fan speed and the card doesnt have to be a gainward. It has fixed/2d/3d controls. try it

but doesnt slower fan raise the cards temps dramatically?

I thought the Leadtek card is actually known for being much quieter than other 6800GTs...

i wouldnt knwo that.. but its still very loud.. . loudest in my case.

Sounds like its defective or something might physically messing up the fan. I can't hear my own Leadtek fan at all since its too wimpy.

My leadtek fan is not loud at all. I'm still thinking of replacing it though for better cooling.

i have it and i dont find it that loud

its definately the loudest fan in my system but then again i have 2 120mm fans, and a CNPS7000Cu on the lowest setting so its got quiet competition. i dont find the fan itself all that noisy, its the grill/shroud over the heatsink that makes the most noise, the rushing of air through the little meshy holes makes alot of noise, but i still think its rather quiet
