6800gt for x800xt aiw or x850xt pe

Hi all. which would you choose in my situation:

6800gt agp.. sold for $350
bought x800xt aiw agp for $350
should i keep the x800xt aiw or sell it and buy a x850xt pe pci-e for about$400 now i can sell my x800xt aiw for $400 so it is like an exchange.. but...

if I get the x850xt pe pci-e, then I would have to buy a pci-e mb.. popssibly a new processor which is a total about another $500... SD 3700+ + MB...

or should I save $500 and just stick with my 3500+ and x800xt aiw?

I personally wouldn't consider upgrading a 3500+ with a decent overclock for a 3700+... but I'm pretty darn cheap lately 🙂

If you can find a buyer for your current card and really only have the cost be a new motherboard, it sounds like a pretty good deal. You'll be better set for the future with a PCI-e motherboard (since it looks like you do frequent upgrades 😉) and if you're not using the aiw features, you're getting a free vid card upgrade.

yup....try overclocking that to 3700+...i managed to get my 3500+ to OC to around ~3700+. i feel u just stick with u have...!!

i'm not sure why you'd want to give up a tv tuner for 5% increase in performance. The proccesor is fine too. You don't need to upgrade anything.

I just thought a SD 3700+ can get me 2.8 rather than the 2.4xx that i have and switching to pci-e with x850xt pe is worth $180...
Assuming that I switch my X800XT AIW for X850XT PE Pci-e
and Selling my MOBO and 3500+ for about $320 .. adding about $180 to get SD 3700+ and a new MOBO...

And I heard that the TV Tuner in AIW is not really good. I can buy one on the side if I need one in the future..

my X800XT AIW is still in it retail package.. so at the moment I have my FX 5200..

Once the new cards hit the market your cards value will drop.

I would sell it for $400 and get one of the next gen cards which should be here by June/July I would assume.
