6800GT (duh!) but what about 128Meg vs 256Mg

Is there a significant difference (In Doom3) between the 128 Meg and 256 Meg versions, considering the incredible lack of 256Mg versions.

If it's a matter of being able to play at 1600 vs. 1280 or 1024 I don't consider that to be significant. Super high resolutions never really did it for me.

I would call 30% difference at 1024 significant.

There is no such thing as a 128MB 6800GT. If you mean between 256MB and 128MB 6800NUs, I doubt there will be a performance differnce at Doom3. It's the speed, not amount.

I couldn't believe that either. I've been snatching up GordonFreeman logins for awhile.

Oh, right, my bad on saying GT. But anyway, am I going to notice going from a $270 128mg card to a $400 256mg card. I guess my feeling is probably not.

Yeah, I know what you mean... I got lucky getting NitroMullet, that is in high demand. Maybe I will resell it when the next '86 IROC Camaro Racing game comes out 🙂

The change should make a difference at high resolution high detail high anisotrophic filtering situations.
