I just bought the 6800gt (for Doom 3, what else) and went to put it in my system. The reboot never even got to the Bios... just a blank screen like the monitor wasnt plugged in (it was). Slap the other card, a geforce 4600 and everything worked fine. The 4-pin power connector was on and everything appeared fine. The techs at CompUSA tried and said that the motherboard wasnt compatible with the card.

My equipment:

Abit KD7 Athalon 2600+ (stock) Corsair 512 pc2700/333 Antec 520(?) power supply

I just dont know why this wont work.. Ive updated the Via // Nvidia drivers and the was all purchased about 1 yr ago....

PLEASE HELP.... Ive got a $400 video card and Doom 3 sitting here and Im goin CRAZY....

Thanks

You should check your motherboard's manual to see it the video card is compatible with your mobo. When I bought mine, I noticed that in the manual is it said it was not compatible with Video Cards that require voltage higher than 1.6 or 1.5 (I don't remember). If you don't have the manual you can probably got the the abit website and d/l it..
