Will the 6800GS drive the Dell 2005FPW properly?

It really depends on you. If it were me, I would say hell no. My GT SLI rig barely drives my 1280x1024 screen with the settings I like.

If you dont mind dropping the IQ a bit and you're not a heavy gamer, I would say the GS would do ok.

I would say it'll run it fine. My 7800GT past GTX speeds (yes it is, it gets 8200 in 3dmark05, 7800GTX gets 7800) barely runs games at 1280x1024 with the settings I like (like matt2), but if you are just a light gamer it should be fine. I like playing with 8x-16xTSAA and 16xAF with all high in-game settings.

Overclock the GS and you should be ok.

Seriously??? I don't know what settings and framerates you require, but something might be wrong. One 7800GT is pretty dang fast at 1280x1024, two should destroy that res.

You're probably right, I read 7800GT. I guess I just wanted to defend my card. Good catch.

No, I indeed was referring to my 7800GT SLI rig (500/1200).

I like to play with all the settings to maximum, 16x AF and the maximum AA possible. Whether that be 8x, 16x, 4xTRMSAA, 4xTRSSAA, or any combination of AA modes.

EDIT: I get 12,000+ in 3Dmark05 and 7889 in 3Dmark06, 66fps average in FEAR using the in-game benchmark with max settings 4x/16x AA/AF, so i dont think that anything is wrong. Just that I can never get too much IQ.

I know several members that feel the same way about their 7800GT SLI rigs.
