someone tell me how the hell a 7600gt can beat a x850 if its running at 128 bit and 12 pipes???

im not the only one lost i hope

More efficient architecture, high core speeds, etc . . .

The same way a 128-bit 6600GT could equal and beat a 256-bit 9800XT ;)

This deal STILL can't be beat;) Although there may be a LOT of "refurb" EVGA 7800GTs coming out soon with all the peeps "stepping up" to the 7900GT for only a few bucks. I may opt to buy a "used" 7800GT to run SLI IF I can find one for ~<$165.

X850XT for $154 after MIR on newegg. Very sweet deal to pass up :(

Seriously, the X850XT is a great deal, gopher it! lol!

PS: 6800GS and X850XT are exactly the same price after MIR, choose your pick ;)

thx for letting me know that the nVidia card will not work for my computer, even though that wasn't my problem. what i was trying to say earlier was what is the difference between a 128-bit graphics card and an 256-bit graphics card. I was looking at the 7600Gt and noticed it was saying the card was 128-bit whereas the x850 was 256-bit

256-bit is much faster then 128-bit, 256 will increase fps/preformance

However it crucially depends how powerful the graphics core is on the 128Bit Card.

The 7600 GT is powerful enough to beat 256Bit Cards like 6800 Ultra/GT/GS. Unless you play at resolutions beyond 16x12, where these cards don't really get enough FPS anyway.

my guess is that the x850xt is still a bit faster than 7600gt and x1800gto, only peaking about fps comparison not sm3 and power consumption.
